Ranjangaon Ganpati Mandir
Ranjangaon Ganpati is one among the Ashtavinayak. The temple was built in between 9th & 10th century. Main temple looks like it was built from Peshwa’s period. Temple facing east has huge & beautiful entrance gate. The Ganesha idol has 10 trunks and 20 hands. From Pune it is 50 km which makes it just a 2hour drive from Mumbai on off days while it would take around 3hours on weekends.
The temple is situated in Shirur taluka about 50kms from Pune and is the eighth temple visited by devotees who set out on the Ashtavinayak Yatra. The form/deity of the temple’s idol which is called Mahaganapati is believed to be so powerful that the locals do not bring home idols of Ganapati at all. Same thing is done during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival as well in other parts of Maharashtra. Rather the devotees themselves visit the temple to seek the blessings.
