Mount Mary Church

Situated at Bandra, Mount Mary Church Mumbai is a popular Roman Catholic Church, dedicated to ‘Virgin Mary’, situated in Mumbai. This ancient church was built in 1640 and then reconstructed in 1761. The church is also known as ‘The Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount’. Another reason why this church is a must visit and beautiful is that it is located on the top of a hill known as ‘Sunderban Bandra’, which beautifully overlooks the mighty Arabian Sea. It is believed by many that the church has unbelievable healing powers and for this reason, the church is always lined up by devotees every day. While it is also believed that if you sincerely pray at the Mount Mary Church, the wishes often gets fulfilled. The ‘Bandra Fair’ or the ‘Feast of Mount Mary’ is a week-long celebration held on every month of September at the Mount Mary Church which is a must attend as it’s a different experience altogether. People from different corners of the world make it a point to visit this place if they are in Mumbai. Its quite popular amongst the foreign tourists.
