Bhaja Caves
Equally stunning but less popular than Ajanta Ellora, Bhaja caves is located at Lonavala near Pune and is around 400ft above the Bhaja Village. A large shrine of Chaityagriha along with 22 rock cut caves are the main attraction point for tourists and it is highly recommended to visit atleast once if you are travelling to lonavala with your friends and family.
Just 12km away from Lonavala and as old as 2nd century BC, its surely a place for those who have a fascination towards history. Also Bhaja Caves was another Vipassana meditation center where in carvings, water cisterns and some of the big cells & halls are still present for the tourists to view. Bhaja caves is usally crowded during monsoons and you will surely spot many people taking selfies alongside the beautiful stupa!
